The Impending Departure!

So, Louise and I are now a month away from leaving New Zealand to go on an OE to Canada.  We’ll be there for a year, and then, if we have any money left, we’ll be traipsing about the States for as long as customs will let us.. 

Naturally, we’ll be documenting this adventure. Expect photos of pretty scenery, animals we manage to get close to, ourselves, and signs/things which our kiwi perspectives find strange or amusing… badly (or non-) edited videos of the same, and drunken and/or half asleep text posts. 

Our wavering itinerary is currently thus;

-5 months working in housekeeping at Panorama Mountain Village just to the west of the Rockies

-While learning from scratch how to snowboard (hilarious videos to come!)

-Probably some snow shoeing, ice skating and attempts to find wildlife

Then!

-buying a car which will allow us to sleep inside of it when necessary 

-ROADTRIP interspersed with WWOOFing, festivals and sightseeing.

-Up the western coast to Alaska, up the Dempster Highway into the arctic circle, back down again, then gradually east towards the coast.

From here it gets murky, but there’ll be some NYC and hopefully wwoofing at a horse ranch or corn farm, then some touristy stuff in California - national parks, San Fran etc..

It’ll take around 18 months.. and it’s gonna be reeeeeally exciting!
